What the class entails
The Art of Pottery is our slowest, happiest evening: two and a half hours of wedging, centering and pulling clay on the wheel. Elena guides your hands through each stage until a small bowl rises under your fingers, then helps you trim and sign it for the kiln.
Clay, glazes, tools, aprons and firing are all covered in the seat price. Come back a fortnight later to collect your glazed piece — or join glazing night and finish it yourself.

Meet your mentor
Elena has thrown pots for eleven years and fired thousands of student bowls in our kiln. Her evening sessions are calm, unhurried and famous for converting the convinced-clumsy into confident throwers.
I have never touched clay. Will I manage?
Yes — centering takes everyone a few tries, and that is exactly what the evening is for. Elena works beside you at the wheel until your clay sits steady, and practice lumps are unlimited.
When do I get my bowl?
Your bowl is trimmed, bisque-fired and glazed by the studio, ready to collect about two weeks after class. We message you the moment it leaves the kiln.
