What the class entails
Woodworking Essentials turns a rough plank into a serving board you carry home the same afternoon. John stays at the bench beside you for measuring, guarded sawing, first chisel cuts and glass-smooth hand sanding, building each skill on the last.
Arrive with zero experience — every tool is sharp, set up and waiting. Benches are capped at eight so a mentor is never more than a step away when you want guidance.

Meet your mentor
John spent fifteen years building bespoke furniture before turning to teaching nine years ago. His sessions run at an easy pace, every cut is demoed twice, and no board leaves the bench until its joints sit true.
I have never used a saw. Is this class for me?
Yes — most of our woodworkers start here with zero experience. The first half hour is a guided tool induction, and sharp, well-set tools do most of the hard work for you.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dusty, closed shoes, and hair tied back. We provide aprons, glasses and ear protection.
